Artillery is the oldest (not counting infantry) of the existing military branches. Although over the past decades, new types of weapons have appeared - rockets, hand grenade launchers and others, which took on some of the tasks previously performed by artillery, it has adapted to the changed conditions and, thanks to the emergence of a new generation of ammunition and improved technologies for making gun barrels, it still remains the "god of war." This book contains detailed information on self-propelled and towed artillery guns, multiple launch rocket systems and mortars in service with the armies of the world. Particular attention is paid to various types of ammunition, since the artilleryman's weapon is a shell, and the gun is only a means of delivering it to the target.
