The book "In the struggle for the latest art" (Art and Revolution) is the memoirs of one of the most prominent theorists of the Russian avant-garde Nikolai Punin about the events of 1916-1917 that took place in Petrograd. Many of the events described by the author as an eyewitness will become known to the reader for the first time. The whole book has never been published before, only one chapter of it was published in several Soviet publications. In his memoirs, Punin not only subtly analyzes the facts and builds the patterns of the events surrounding him, but also describes them in excellent literary language.
