The musical culture of Ancient Russia is one of the brightest, but little studied pages of Russian musical culture. Ancient Russia dressed "in its own voice," its musical world was filled with the sounds of folk instruments and songs, church chants, the ringing of bells. Evidence of the high development of the musical culture of Ancient Russia is the many singing manuscripts that are stored in our archives. They contain many chants, various chants, which are recorded in znamenny, kondakarna, demestic, travel and other notations, many of them are not deciphered. The surviving bell towers are evidence of great love in Russia for bells and bells. Despite the significant influence of Byzantium, especially in the era of Kievan Rus, and obvious borrowings, Russia has formed its own special type of musical intonation, which is still partly preserved in the chants of the Old Believers. The importance of the musical culture of Ancient Russia has not yet been fully appreciated. Russian old songs, tunes, chants and ringing turned out to be the basis under the influence of which the musical culture of modern Russia developed.
