Basic information on materials science of ferrous and non-ferrous metals is given. Traditional methods of metal processing (thermal, casting, pressure, welding, cutting, electrochemical, electrophysical) are described. New technological methods of metal production and processing, their technical and economic characteristics and areas of application are considered in detail.
