The collection dedicated to the 400th anniversary of the birth of Archpriest Avvakum includes articles on topical problems of the history of the Old Believers. which summed up the results of many years of study of the Old Believers. Particular attention is paid to the literary heritage of Archpriest Avvakum, and the formation of the ideology of the Old Believers, Old Believer centers, relations with the surrounding population, the attitude of the hierarchs of the official church to the Old Believers, the influence of the Old Believers on the religious search for the intelligentsia and people, and the preservation of the Old Russian spiritual heritage by the Old Believers.
