Scott Harris textbook is designed to provide a first look at the sociology of emotions. It reveals in an accessible form the basic concepts of this area of ​ ​ sociological science: emotional norms, emotion management and emotional work. Despite the small volume of the textbook, the author shows the essence of the sociological approach to emotions, touching on individual theories and areas of study of emotions in sociology. He chose the main theoretical perspectives in which the sociology of emotions began to form in the first place - symbolic interactionism and the theory of social exchange. Each section is equipped with an analysis of interesting empirical studies, reading recommendations and exercises.
