Prominent Japanese diplomat Togo Shigenorn was Minister of Foreign Affairs in the Cabinet of Toje in 1941-1942, during the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, and then took the same position in the Cabinet of Suzuki in April 1945, at the final stage of the Pacific War. In the face of opposition from the Japanese military, he played a decisive role in Japan's acceptance of the terms of the Potsdam Declaration and the country's withdrawal from the war. Togo, who was engaged in relations with the USSR in the Japanese Foreign Ministry, made great efforts in the 30s to normalize Japanese-Soviet relations. He owns the idea of ​ ​ concluding a Neutrality Pact between our countries.
