The first volume of the five-volume publication investigated on the example of the Ukrainian SSR the issues of planning and forecasting of economic proportions in order to ensure a balance in economic development. It is considered as an economic category of developed socialism, the most important proportions of social production, their dynamics and trends, methods for determining intersectoral proportions in the national economy, distribution proportions, the possibility of macromodeling the economy of the republic, econometric methods and forecasting models for the development of the national economy, issues of developing a balance sheet system as the most important tool for planning the pace and proportions.
