Large domestic and foreign material on activation and decontamination of NPP equipment and premises is summarized. Corrosion processes occurring during NPP operation are described. The isotopic composition and levels of radioactive contamination of nuclear power plants are given. The basic principles of the theory of radioactive contamination of surfaces and the theory of decontamination are presented. Technical means of decontamination are considered in detail.
