The memoirs of Prince A. Solntsev-Zasekin are a unique eyewitness and one of the organizers of the escape of the outstanding Russian military leader General L. G. Kornilov from Austrian captivity. The memoir sheds light on many previously unknown circumstances of the escape. In addition to the story directly about the preparation and execution of Kornilov's escape, the author gives many details of the life of Russian prisoners of war in Austrian captivity during the First World War.
