This volume contains all the works of Ludwig von Mises (1881-1973) devoted to the theory of money. In the book "Theory of Money and Fiduciary Means of Circulation" (1912), the author, in particular, integrated the theory of marginal utility and the theory of money, solving a fundamental economic-theoretical problem that was considered insoluble before him. He based this decision on the theory of the value of money, interpreted as an independent class of goods (along with consumer goods and industrial goods), refuted the concept of money neutrality, and developed an exhaustive typology of exchange funds. The concept of fiduciary means of circulation (a specific type of monetary substitutes) introduced by Mises allowed him to give a correct economic and theoretical description of banking activities and put forward a theory of the economic cycle.
