The fourth book of the cycle. Landing on the planet was hard. Due to the unexpected maneuver of the enemy, the Union forces were scattered across the split world and cut off from each other. Despite the plight and death of almost all the guides, thanks to the actions of Alex and a detachment of fearless warriors, they manage to escape from the tenacious clutches of the enemy and regroup. But time still works against them. The enemy, entrenched inside the now inaccessible split world, can strike again at any time. Alex himself is also running out. Death and gradual transformation into one of the creatures are increasingly alienating him from his former allies. Whose side will he take? People, turning weapons against new relatives? Or the spawns of a split world, in the hope that they will help deal with its mutations? Whether one person stuck between the two warring parties will become the grain of sand that will tip the scales in favor of one of them - only time will tell.
