The main goal of this work is to reconstruct the complex and colorful world of official holiday culture in the cities of Russia and Belarus in the 17th century against the background of the ethnic history of the two peoples, to reveal the nature of ethnocultural ties between Belarusian and Russian citizens, to show the connection of official celebrations with the folk tradition of the Eastern Slavs. The study of the festive complex will help an in-depth analysis of the place of culture of the East Slavic peoples in European civilization.
