The victory over Nikol Bolas and the salvation of the Multiverse cost the myrrh-walkers considerable losses. Now the living have to deal with the consequences and mourn the dead. But one of the losses is especially, unbearably bitter: the triumph cost the life of the knight of justice, the pillar and shield of the Guard, Gideon Jura. While his former comrades, Chandra and Jace, try to recover from such a grave grief, their future, like the future of the Guard, remains unclear.
