The collection contains articles of both an overview nature and containing the results of original research. It can be divided into three parts. The reviews given in the first part allow us to judge the success in the development of non-silver and unusual recording media of various types. Special attention is paid to analysis of properties of materials most promising for holography, which provide recording of holograms with high diffraction efficiency at acceptable expenditure of laser radiation energy, namely photocrefringent ferroelectric crystals, amorphous inorganic semiconductors, photopolymers of iphotothermoplastic systems.
