The book for the first time fully publishes the memoirs of the adjutant wing of Emperor Nicholas II A. A. Mordvinov. The first part "In the military court service covers the period before the outbreak of World War I and is devoted to childhood, training in the cadet corps, the history of the Mordvinov family, service as a personal adjutant to Grand Duke Mikhail Alexandrovich, and subsequently Nicholas II. A special place in the memoirs is given to his communication with members of the imperial family in an informal setting, which allowed A. A. Mordvinov to sincerely love those to whom he served by faith and truth with devotion preserved in his heart to death. The publication expands and complements the range of sources on the history of Russia at the beginning of the 20th century, the Romanov dynasty, the last emperor Nicholas II and one of the most tragic pages - his abdication and the death of the monarchy.
