The Hawkers were once a noble race of paladin-protectors, masters of Chama Fogo (fire magic), and sworn to defend their Odonata brethren. Then the Day of Corruption came and the Hawkers' Basilica home was engulfed with Malada, a pollution that twisted and tainted the Hawkers within, turning them into cruel and vicious beings, revelling in torture and cruelty. When the Hawkers get dangerously close to uncovering what came of their Enchiridion, a powerful spell book seized by the Odonata's Emerald Rangers long ago, Dax, a young scribe, is sent on a quest with the beautiful and deadly Emerald Ranger Yslana to find Ithios the Viajante, the Jracon devoted to hiding the truth about the Enchiridion at all costs.
