The collection includes tales of Nubians, Arabs, Beja, Dinka, Nuers, Shilluki, Jo-Luo, Annuak, Bari, Moro, Murle, Azande. The variety of languages ​ ​ and adverbs also significantly complicates the collection of folklore material. That is why the vast majority of fairy tale recordings have been published so far in translation into European languages, or in European transcription. All of them, as a rule, are placed in highly specialized monographs and journals. Translators sought to convey the text of fairy tales as accurately as possible. However, some records, due to their extreme connectedness, had to be subjected to literary processing. First of all, this refers to the folklore of the Nilots and the peoples of Central and Eastern Sudan. The tales of the peoples of Sudan reveal to us the diversity of life and everyday life of ordinary people with all their daily worries, sorrows and much rarer joys. They undoubtedly occupy a worthy place in the treasury of world folklore, in which wide circles of readers of our country show an enduring interest.
