The book is devoted to the history of Belarusian state building in the context of the Soviet-Polish confrontation in 1918-1921. In the period from the Brest-Litovsk Peace Conference to the signing of the Soviet-Polish Peace Treaty in 1921, state formations were consistently proclaimed in the Belarusian territories: the Belarusian People's Republic, the Lithuanian-Belarusian Soviet Republic, the BSSR. Poland also tried to realize its scenario of restoring the allied Lithuanian-Belarusian state, and then creating Belarusian autonomy. The book clarifies the motives of the decisions made by the RSFSR and Poland on the territorial and national problems of the region.
