The book published a monograph of SV. Meyen's "Introduction to the Theory of Stratigraphy" and a number of articles devoted to various aspects of theoretical stratigraphy, its structure. Much attention is paid to the consideration of the principles of stratigraphy, geohistoric periodization, the relationship between the boundaries of international and regional stratigraphic scales, the paleoecosystem approach, and the problem of time in geology.
