The book contains and systematizes about 30 articles and reports from the conference of the American Institute of Aviation and Astronautics (AIAA). In these works, hydrodynamics, propulsion qualities of underwater vehicles, their propulsion systems are considered. The characteristics of various types of engines used for underwater vehicles are presented - jet, electric and thermal. The areas of rational use of these engines are determined on the basis of an analysis of their features, taking into account the general methodology for designing devices. Sources of noise in transmissions of drives of underwater vehicles and means of its reduction are considered. Test methods for underwater vehicles are given.
