Facing deportation, Mara decides to go underground. In a network of safe houses high on the backbone of England, she meets others who have made their home in the UK but are now forced to lead their lives in the half-shadows of society. Hoping to reach relative safety in Scotland, they embark on a journey across the moors of northern England - but Immigration Enforcement is never far behind.
