The book is dedicated to the brightest figures of dramatic art in France in the second half of the 20th century. Along with such famous theatrical figures as Jean Vilar and Peter Brook, Jean-Louis Barrot and Antonin Artaud, it first appears those who largely determined the picture of French theater during this period, and whose work is little known in our country: Antoine Vitez and Armand Gatti, Ariana Mnushkina and Jerome Savary, Patrice Chéreau and Brigitte Jacques. It also tells about the Boulevard Theater and the productions of A.P. Chekhov on the French stage.
