Shchepkin Mitrofan Pavlovich (1832-1908) - Russian publicist, economist and statistician, teacher, translator and public figure. He became known as an outstanding figure in the Moscow city public administration, in which he took part for 30 years, always being an ardent defender of the interests of self-government and an expert on urban economy.
