The book is dedicated to the history of the Mamontovsky district from ancient times to the end of the twentieth century, recreated on the basis of an analysis of museum collections, archival materials and information published in sources that are little known and inaccessible to the reader. The essay on ancient history is the result of a generalization of materials obtained during the work of the archaeological expedition of the Chernokuryinsky secondary school.
