The modern system of university training of managers includes a number of managerial disciplines, but four of them ("History of managerial thought," "Fundamentals of management," "Theory of organization" and "Organizational behavior") occupy a special place in it. They are closely interconnected, form a single module - "Theory of Management" - and act as the "basis" of management. The textbook details the origins and genesis of organizational and managerial activities, as well as the process of forming management ideas, views, concepts. Covering a large-scale historical period (5000 years), the book is focused on the analysis of the laws of evolution of scientific thought at each chronological stage - Antiquity, the Middle Ages, New and Modern times. Comprehending the logic of the deployment of managerial thought in the context of the world history of mankind acts as a "fulcrum" for the formation of a scientific worldview and a high methodological culture among future managers and economists.
