Book of the Soviet emigrant historian about the forced expulsion of the Crimean Tatars, Chechens and Kalmyks. In the spring of 1975, realizing that the authorities would not allow the publication of a book of such content in the USSR, A. Nekrich handed over the manuscript for publication abroad. The book was first published in Russian in the Neva magazine in 1993.
