The manual covers the main approaches to field diagnostics of minerals and rocks. The manual in the form of diagnostic tables provides a description of 96 minerals and their varieties and 42 of the most common rocks of different origins. Characteristic properties of minerals were noted: chemical formula, syngony, crystallographic forms, basic diagnostic properties of minerals and their differences, paragenetic associations and practical application.
