Ivan Kuzmich Makarov is a wonderful Russian artist, a native of peasants. His father created his own school in Saransk, where novice artists studied painting. So young Ivan was lucky - before his eyes there was an example of devotion to art, which was served by a person close to him. Ivan Kuzmich Makarov himself graduated from the Academy of Arts and although he did not go beyond some conventionality of academic traditions, he managed to express in his works the kindness and clarity of his worldview inherent in him. A contemporary wrote about his work: "His brush was soft and delicate, the drawing was distinguished by the unconditional accuracy and courage of Russian masters."
