Taking part in the final of the Bard's Bake-Off to celebrate Shakespeare Day, Nell is up to her armpits in flour and sugar at Bingley Hall when her best friend and business partner, Maxie, calls with news that the star attraction of the festivities - an unfinished manuscript rumoured to have been written by Shakespeare himself - has gone missing. Having only hours earlier fallen out with Maxie over the bookshop's lacklustre sales, Nell can't believe Maxie expects her to drop everything to help, and reacts harshly, telling Maxie to "sort it out" herself. Back in the competition tent, Nell tries to focus on her dish only to discover a body in the walk-in refrigerator. What next? Is someone out to ruin the celebrations? Are the festivities - and possibly their relationship - doomed to be yet another Shakespearean tragedy?
