Split "I" is the first book (1960) by R. D. Laing - psychoanalyst and psychotherapist, idol of the 60s and 70s, "troublemaker," one of the creators of antipsychiatry. He not only calls for "learning from a schizophrenic," who, in his understanding, becomes a "guide" to other states of consciousness that are closed to the "person of everyday life," but also organizes one of the world's first "alternative clinics" for psychotic patients, where he achieves serious success in their cure. In the Split "I," he makes an attempt not just to state his views on psychiatry, but to make the reader feel the inner world of a schizophrenic, paradoxical and logical at the same time.
