The richest culture of magazine theatrical, and not only theatrical, but also relating to all the arts, satirical graphics inherited by Soviet art from the pre-revolutionary, at first degenerated into a benevolent cartoon, and before the war it completely ceased to exist. The meaning of this book, among other things, I see in showing the possibilities and diversity of theatrical caricature and encouraging artists to revive it.
