The documentary nature of many parts of our presentation is explained not only by our desire to rely whenever possible on unquestionable data, but also by the fact that our desire met with sympathy and assistance from various individuals and institutions in England. Such an attitude towards persons interested in a particular scientific issue can be found in the modern world only in America, which we also say on the basis of many years of diverse personal experience.
