The Nelson-Atkins Museum exhibits about 34,000 works. It houses works from all over the world dating back to different eras. The history of European art is represented by such names as Caravaggio, El Greco, Titian, Rembrandt, Rubens, Degas, Monet, Pissarro. The highlight of the museum is considered to be the department of Southeast Asia, where masterpieces of China, Japan, India, Iran, Indonesia and Korea are exhibited; a special place is occupied by national contemporary American art. The museum opened a sculptural park with the largest collection of monumental works by G. Moore in the United States.
