Augustine is a brilliant astronomer who abandoned personal happiness and devoted himself to the study of stars. Sullivan, for colleagues just Sally, is an astronaut who sacrificed her family for the mission to Jupiter and left her little daughter at home. They are separated by millions of kilometers: outside the Augustine Observatory window - endless Arctic expanses, behind the Sally porthole - the icy emptiness of space. But once their measured and established life disrupts the unexpected: on Earth, for an inexplicable reason, all radio signals disappear, and the Mission Control Center stops communicating.
