2010 is the year of the 65th anniversary of the Victory over the fascist invaders in the Great Patriotic War. The book "On the Altar of Victory" is the result of the socio-cultural project "University - 65th Anniversary of Victory," dedicated to this significant date by the team of authors, which brought together teachers and students of the Novoshakhtinsky branch of SFU, employees of the editorial office of the newspaper "Miner's Banner," representatives of the public of the city of Novoshakhtinsk. The basis of the publication is the memories of Novoshakhtintsev about the Great Patriotic War. Many of the participants and eyewitnesses of military events for health reasons can no longer meet with young people to talk about their military affairs, but their memories are of great value for patriotic education and the formation of an active life position among young people. This is the confession of people whose youth is scorched by war, facing the current generations.
