The monograph is a comprehensive study of the history of society and the law of Volga Bulgaria from the VIII to the first third of the XIII century. Based on a wide range of diverse sources, the work introduces readers to various aspects of the life of Bulgarian society. The study examines such fundamental issues of legal relations as the problems of land ownership and feudalism, analyzes the tax system in detail, and gives a classification of taxes. Attention is paid to the nature and features of private law (trade, marriage, family, hereditary relations), the types and categories of crimes and punishments, and the principles of legal proceedings are identified.
