The monograph is devoted to the policy of secular and spiritual power aimed at strengthening the army and navy of Russia in the second half of the 19th - early 20th centuries. The work presents a list and characteristics of august soldiers and sailors from the Romanov dynasty, analyzed the specific efforts of the government of Alexander III and Nicholas II, as well as the Grand Dukes Nikolai Nikolaevich (Senior) and Alexander Mikhailovich, aimed at supporting the army and navy, and also considered the activities of the august sisters of mercy and clergy in the army and navy of pre-revolutionary Russia.
