In the very south of Altai, among the rocky mountains, the small plateau of Ukok was lost. Here, for five field seasons (1991-1995), archaeological expeditions of the Institute of Archeology and Ethnography of the SB RAS worked under the guidance of the author of this book, academician V.I. Molodin, and Doctor of Science N.V. Polosmak. During this short period, monuments of various eras were investigated on Ukoka and sensational scientific discoveries were made.
