A huge array of various documents, memoirs, artistic, epistolary and other testimonies of the poet himself, his friends and enemies about the last 13 months of Pushkin's life could only be placed in a separate book. This is undoubtedly one of the most scrupulously studied and at the same time, perhaps, the most mysterious to this day period of the biography of a person who remains in the generations of his compatriots the personification of the national genius of Russia.
