This scientific and methodological study outlines the methods of work of outstanding choral conductors and regents over the past 100-120 years: D. Bortnyansky, E. Orlova, N. Danilina, A. Nikolsky, A. Sveshnikov, A. Yurlova, V. Minin, V. Popova, N. Matveeva, Arch. Matthew (Mormylya), representatives of the Odessa choir school - K. Pigrova, D. Zagretsky and others. Arbitrary and involuntary methods of working with the choir, features of secular and church singing are described, recommendations are given for the development and preservation of the singing voice in childhood and adulthood, as well as advice on overcoming high voice loads among representatives of speech-voice professions: singers, readers, deacons, priests, music teachers of secondary schools, teachers of secondary and higher educational institutions. The work is addressed to students of music and pedagogical universities, music colleges, seminaries, choirmaster teachers, and all those who have decided to become a choral conductor, regent, soloist or choir singer.
