A series of mysterious and brutal murders are assigned to solve Fabian, one of the best employees of the Department. A clan of vampires is under suspicion, but is it really so? Fabian does not notice how he becomes dependent on magic and loses control of Faceless. The sorcerer is increasingly drawn into a quagmire, and even Joan is unable to save him.
