By the end of the 19th century, when the history and theory of art that existed until then were scattered, as it were, "rallied" into a single science - "art history," or "art history" ("Kunstwissenschaft") - the volume of this science immediately grew to unprecedented size. And although for the last section of our "History of European Art Studies" we choose a relatively short period of time (1871-1917), the characterization of art history material of this period does not fit within one book. The second book of this volume is devoted to the art history of the turn of the XIX-XX centuries in Russia and the countries of Eastern Europe.
