The book is devoted to the development of interior art for one and a half hundred years - from 1700 to 1840 - times full of striking changes in all areas of Russian life, which were closely related and were reflected in the culture of residential interior. The book presents the dynamics of the development of interior art from the Baroque to Empire. Particular attention is paid to the history of individual premises of houses and palaces: living rooms, bedrooms, dining rooms, stairs and porches.
