The theme of this book, on the one hand, is the dialogue between Christian theology and science, on the other hand, it contains a philosophical explication of the motives driving cosmology with an emphasis on the central role of the human person in shaping the meaning of what is called the "universe." Moreover, since man is understood in the context of relations with God, cosmic history articulated by science is interpreted as included in the order of the human history of salvation, and not vice versa. The essence of what is called theological devotion can be understood as the presence of a theological homunculus in any question about the meaning of the universe as the meaning of human existence in general.
