The tutorial outlines the basic concepts of probability theory and mathematical statistics. The essence of the semi-probable method of calculation of building structures is considered - calculation by limit states. Statistical regularities of loads, environmental impacts and strength of materials are shown. Basic methods for calculating the reliability of simple and complex construction systems have been identified. Examples of probabilistic calculations in the design and reliability assessment of building structures are given.
