An impoverished aristocrat accidentally finds an ancient artifact, inside which something living is discovered. He hires a young scientist, Carolina Reese, to deal with the find. The Count does not realize that, having revived an ancient creature, he signs a death sentence for himself and, possibly, for all of humanity, for the Master of Battle - a unique parasitic life form - is practically invincible.
