The book contains the first in Russian historiography a detailed description and study of the culture of ancient Ugarit - a way of life, socio-political organization, life, customs and spiritual life of society. Particular attention is paid to the oldest general Semitic cultural traditions that developed in the Ugaritic environment, as well as the relations of the Ugaritic culture with the cultures of other societies of Western Asia.
