Sam Bennett lands in Kyiv in April of 1991. He's on private business on this most recent of many trips to the Soviet Bloc throughout the Cold War. Much of that was back in Sam's past with CIA. Of course, those days were never completely in his past. Once in Kyiv, the beautiful and seductive Marina Petrova, Ukraine's Minister of the Arts, contrives a meeting with Sam to enroll him and Julie Wright, a rising star in the US State Department in Marina's plot to find and repatriate a priceless trove of stolen art recovered by the Soviet Army in Berlin at the end of World War II. The Lost Legacy follows Sam, Marina, and Julie in their race to recover the art and their battle with the corrupt oligarch, Pavel Bondaruk, to repatriate the art to the West.
