A fundamental study about Bach, written by the outstanding scientist, philosopher and enlightener Albert Schweitzer, is published in full in Russian in this edition: the basis is the 1964 edition with the translation of J. S. Druskin and edited by M. S. Druskin; the text disclosed bills that were undertaken for ideological reasons. Schweitzer's book deals in a broad context with the problems of aesthetics, style and genre evolution of Bach's work.
